Audio Recordings: When you record or upload audio files to our servers, we process the audio data solely for the purpose of species identification. Audio files are processed in-memory and are not written to permanent storage disk, nor are they associated with any personally identifiable markers unless explicitly permitted by you.

Device Information: We may collect anonymous browser details, operating system, and IP address to prevent service abuse, apply rate limit thresholds, and optimize performance.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected data to:

• Process audio files and returns the scientific identification facts.
• Monitor and enforce rate limits to protect our infrastructure from automated bots.
• Analyze aggregate, non-personal data trends to expand the species database.

3. API Proxies & Data Transfers

To deliver species identification, our backend securely proxies the audio content to third-party machine learning APIs (including the Hugging Face Inference API and Google Gemini API). These external service providers do not receive any of your personal details, email addresses, or client IPs. They receive only the audio buffer required for acoustic signal identification.

4. Security Standards

We implement industry-standard security headers (Helmet), Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) rules, and rate limits to block malicious attacks. However, please note that no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee complete data safety.
